Paramore Digipak Advert

This is a half-page advert for Paramore's single Ignorance, it is from their third album and by this time they were an established band. Normally famous bands have full page adverts as they can afford them, although adverts often don't need that much space. The band are so well known they don't need pictures of themselves or instruments etc. as anyone who would buy the single is already aware of the group.

The photograph used in the advert is the same as the single cover, a technique almost every digipak advert uses. The song is written about tension between the band members and the photo is not related to this, it is unusual to use a picture so unrelated to the song or music video. The angel ornaments in the picture are small and cute looking, this is juxtaposed with the rest of the advert. Paramore is not a 'cute' band and the angelic figures look very out of place on the gritty brick wall. These objects might have some deeper meaning to a band member or may just be there because they are unusual. The picture is quite unexpected and entropic for a punk band, although it is all in black & white which is often used in this genre.

The bands name is very large, with the song title underneath. The font used for the song is decorative and is another clash between the font and what it says. The only other feature on the page is the website information in much smaller text in the bottom of the image, this information can be smaller as it is for people who are looking for more information, not a casual observer.
